Deep in the Pit

In bright broad daylight

From deep in a pit,

Visible are stars.

So, the saying goes.

How true is this so?

When sun is eclipsed,

And dark is the sky

Stars speckle our sky.

Sun’s glistening rays

On fine floating specks

Glitters and reflects.

Blocking distant stars.

Joseph in deep pit

All dust settled down.

No light around him

Sees heaven’s light dim.

When troubles surround

Distractions ignored.

Heaven’s light descends

Attention demands.

Ignore not this light.

It soon will be bright!

Surround you ever,

Always, forever.
